UTILITY SENIOR SERVICES MANAGER (FINANCE/BUDGET)

Sewerage And Water Board's Finance Administration Division

Professional, supervisory, administrative and technical work directing all activities relating to the Sewerage and Water Board's Finance Administration Division. This position will function as the second in command to the Sewerage and Water Board's Comptroller of Finance. Work includes planning, assigning and reviewing the work of lower-level managers and include a staff of professional, technical and clerical employees. Work includes establishing and monitoring management controls for assigned operational area and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to the Board operations where applicable; and related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

(Original Entrance)

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field from an accredited college or university with at least twenty-four (24) semester hours of accounting. Credit will only be given for semester hours listed on college transcript with an accounting course prefix.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience with increasing responsibility performing budgeting or accounting functions. Two (2) years of this experience must have been at an exempt (salaried) level and must have included both supervision and the preparation or auditing of comprehensive financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field from an accredited college or university with at least twenty-four (24) semester hours of accounting. Credit will only be given for semester hours listed on college transcript with an accounting course prefix.
• Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board in a class of work having a pay grade equal to or higher than Utility Services Manager (pay grade 88) and two (2) years of experience in budget/finance/accounting work at that level.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years. WORKING TEST PERIOD: Effective August 1, 2023, the working test (probationary) period for all positions in the classified service is one year.
