Are you studying Education, Psychology, Child Development, Social Work, Recreation, or a related field? This is the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with elementary-aged children in a structured afterschool program while developing skills that future employers and graduate programs value.
As an Activities Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced educators while gaining real-world experience in:
- Classroom & behavior management
- Child engagement
- Lesson support
- Leadership & communication
- Time management
- Teamwork
Schedule
- Monday–Friday | 2:00–6:00 PM
- Follows the Tarrytown & Irvington school calendars
- Approximately 180 days per school year
- Paid orientation, required training, and scheduled early dismissal days
What You'll Do
- Support fun enrichment classes including Sports, Art, STEAM, Music & Movement, Potpourri, and Homework.
- Assist with classroom management and student engagement.
- Set up and clean up activities.
- Serve snack and prepare materials.
- Help create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment.
- Work alongside a supportive team to deliver an exceptional afterschool experience.
