Legal Practice Assistant
A leading law firm with offices throughout California is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant local to one of its Southern California locations, including Indian Wells, Irvine, Los Angeles, Ontario, Riverside, or San Diego. The firm focuses on delivering effective, client-service-oriented solutions to complex legal issues facing public agencies, businesses, and individuals.
The Legal Practice Assistant will provide a high level of customer service while producing a high volume of consistently excellent work. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting legal documents, inputting attorney edits, and preparing complex documents, correspondence, and memoranda under attorney or paralegal supervision. The role also involves scheduling and preparing for meetings, notarizing and eRecording documents, tracking work status in the firm's BigHand system, opening new files and client matters, running conflict checks, and maintaining client relations and confidentiality. The assistant will work closely with other support staff, accept overflow work from the litigation department, and manage multiple attorneys' needs with minimal supervision.
A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with at least 5 years of relevant legal assistant experience. Environmental/CEQA experience is required, and litigation experience is a plus. Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills (iManage, Microsoft Office) are essential.
The estimated annual salary range is $85,000$110,000.
