Position: Curriculum Specialist Department/Campus: Central Office Reports to: Curriculum Coordinator FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Grade: Band 5 Job Type: FullTime Work Hours: NormalWorkhours(215 days) JOB ROLES: Assistinprovidingleadershipandcoordinationtodeliveranalignedandarticulatedinstructionalprograminall subject areas in PK-12. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor'sdegreerequired Texas Teaching certification required Minimum of three years of exemplary teaching Master'sdegree inCurriculum and Instruction(preferred) KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of SST Schools Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers Ability to coordinate a district-wide program Analytical skills to interpret data and identify performance gaps Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Leadershipskills tocoach teacherson effectiveinstructional strategies KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional and Program Management Collaborateandassistinthereview,development,andrevisionofallcoresubjectareaprogramsandrelated curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, and teaching plans. Workcooperativelywithcoordinators,campusadministrators,andteachersindevelopinginstructional programs in all core subjects. SupportInstructionalLeadershipTeams(ILT)forplanning,development,andproductionofcurriculummaterials, processes, and best practices that are evaluated and acknowledged to be highly effective in improving student outcomes. Assist in the development of curriculum-based assessments in all core subject areas Supportcoordinatorswithdataanalysisreflectingcurrentstudentperformanceorotherdataasneededtoexamine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness. Assistin creatinginstructional materials tosupport staff inaccomplishing program goals. Assist in the preparation of ordering instructional materials, supplemental supports, and supplies Staff Development Conductandcollaboratewithcoordinatorsonstaffdevelopmentsessions,includingsessionsonthedeliveryof instruction, enriched learning in classroom settings, and new instructional practices in all core subject areas. Observeclassroominstructionandprovidefeedbackandassistancetoclassroomteacherstofacilitateimprovementand innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with teachers in professional development settings. Attendand presentthe mostcurrent curriculumstaff development. Assistin providing resourcesand materials tosupport staff inaccomplishing program goals. Other Useeffective communicationskills topresent informationaccurately and clearly. Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required. Assist with the evaluation and selection of supplemental equipment and supplies for the program. Perform all other duties as assigned WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: LightWork:may requireoccasionallight lifting. Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
