Every other Friday off This position requires availability for a 40-hour work week and additional hours when required. What You'll Do Electrical Technicians work from engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and production documentation to build custom electrical equipment from assembly through final inspection and testing. Your work will include electrical assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, testing, inspection, and repair. Attention to detail and quality workmanship are essential, as the equipment you build will ultimately serve customers and critical operations throughout North America.
Assembly & Wiring In this role, you will:
- Install and assemble electrical components within custom power distribution equipment.
- Wire control panels, switchboards, transformers, PLC systems, breakers, relays, and associated electrical assemblies.
- Use electrical schematics, engineering documents, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to complete assigned work.
- Route, identify, terminate, and test electrical wiring.
- Make modifications or repairs to electrical assemblies when necessary.
- Follow schematics and electrical drawings accurately throughout the assembly process.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems.
- Perform continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, Hi-Pot testing, and operational verification.
- Inspect completed work for compliance with engineering requirements and established quality standards.
- Locate and correct wiring and assembly discrepancies.
- Support final quality inspections before completed equipment is released for shipment.

Electrician in Training
- 0-2,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Previous experience with hand tools, power tools, and blueprint reading is a plus but is not required.
- 2,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must pass the IE Electrical Technician 1 Competency Test with a score of 75% or higher.
- 2,000-4,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must pass the IE Electrical Technician 2 Competency Test with a score of 75% or higher.
- 4,000-6,000 hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must pass the IE Electrical Technician 3 Competency Test with a score of 75% or higher.
- 8,000+ hours of on-the-job electrician experience.
- Must pass the IE Senior Electrical Technician Competency Test with a score of 75% or higher.
- State Journeyman license in Utah or Colorado.
- Read, understand, and apply electrical schematics, drawings, specification charts, and related technical documentation to project setup and completed products.
- Read and understand production reports involving both quality and quantity.
- Complete NCRs and follow established safety requirements.
- Develop productive and effective working relationships and communication with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and staff.
- Perform electrical calculations involving resistance, voltage, ohms, fusing capacity, and related electrical concepts.
- Accurately translate electrical drawings and schematics into completed wiring.
- Understand company operating costs, production costs, and costs associated with production overruns.
- Apply mathematical concepts such as percentages, fractions, proportions, and ratios to practical work situations.
- Review and understand project plans, documents, and specifications and resolve practical problems that may arise.
- Follow and interpret instructions provided verbally, in writing, through diagrams, or by schedule.
- Use a computer to record time and job hours.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires employees to work safely around electrical equipment, machinery, and moving equipment.
- Employees are regularly exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
- Employees may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- The typical noise level within the work environment is moderate.
- Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Required vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Employees regularly use their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and must reach with their hands and arms.
- The position regularly requires climbing or balancing and talking or hearing.
- Employees frequently stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and taste or smell.
- Employees occasionally walk and sit.
- The position requires the ability to perform frequent heavy lifting as well as continual bending and standing on a concrete floor.
