Retail Operations Lead - Catering, Inventory & Fulfillment

BKLYN Larder is a specialty food shop and kitchen that has been serving Brooklyn for more than 15 years. We’re known for our sandwiches, artisanal cheeses and provisions, catering, and curated gift boxes shipped nationwide.

We’re looking for a full-time Retail Operations Lead who loves hospitality but is also highly organized, resourceful and interested in the operational side of a food business.

This is a hands-on position that combines Front of House work with responsibility for inventory, purchasing, Shopify product management, and catering and gift-order fulfillment .

What You'll Do

You'll have responsibility for several key areas of our day-to-day operation:

• Order Fulfillment: Oversee the fulfillment of catering, gifting, shipping and delivery orders, coordinating across teams to make sure orders are accurate, complete and on time.

• Inventory & Purchasing: Manage retail inventory, pars and routine purchasing, anticipating product and supply needs and maintaining appropriate stock levels.

• Shopify & Product Management: Maintain accurate product information, pricing, availability and inventory in Shopify.

• Front of House Operations: Work as part of the FOH team and train across opening, mid and closing shifts. Provide excellent customer service and help maintain our merchandising and store standards.

The role offers a mix of customer-facing work and behind-the-scenes operations, with the opportunity to learn multiple sides of a specialty food business.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys both hospitality and organization —someone who likes working with customers but is equally comfortable keeping track of the details that make a business run well.

You might come from specialty food, grocery, retail, catering, hospitality, e-commerce or another operational environment. We're interested in candidates who are:

• Organized and detail-oriented

• Proactive and resourceful

• Comfortable balancing different priorities

• Strong communicators and collaborative teammates

• Comfortable with technology and learning new systems

• Warm and confident with customers

• Interested in food and eager to learn

• Dependable and available to work weekends and peak holiday periods

Experience with inventory, purchasing, catering fulfillment, e-commerce, Shopify or other retail systems is a plus, but you do not need experience in every area.

We're also open to someone earlier in their career who is ready to learn and grow into greater responsibility.
