This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness and maintenance, pet safety standards, and the direct care of pets within our store. Job Responsibilities Engage with pet parents in person, over the phone, at the sales register, and online to ensure positive outcomes. Greet pet parents and answer their questions throughout the store. Prepare online orders for pick-up and ensure a smooth experience. Care for store-owned pets, including feeding, watering, and cleaning habitats. Maintain store cleanliness standards. Support weekly price changes and promotional pricing. Stage and sort new products to match sales floor plans. Replenish and recover products to meet standards. Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise, services, and live pets. Administer store pet medications as directed by a veterinarian. Promote events like adoption weekends and charity events. Ensure a safe environment for staff, pets, and customers. Take immediate action if a sick or injured pet is identified. Assist in various store areas as needed. Participate in our culture of Belonging and Recognition. Follow all company policies and procedures. Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure. Physical Demands and Work Environment Stand, walk, climb ladders, and handle objects frequently; reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly; team lift over 100 pounds occasionally. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet environments, pet hair, and noise; handling live animals is common.
