DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides classroom and on-the-job training in the electrical trade to inmates within a structured program. The work supports daily operations through instruction, supervision, tool control, and documentation. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Electrical Instruction: Teach installation, repair, inspection, and maintenance practices for electrical systems and equipment Classroom Training: Deliver curriculum content, maintain order, and document inmate progress and attendance Work Crew Guidance: Direct and oversee inmate work crews completing electrical work orders and inspect finished tasks Tool Control: Issue, inventory, and account for materials and tools during training and work assignments Material Planning: Determine needed tools and materials and submit purchase requests when required Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade. Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement .
