In addition to providing medication order assessment, clinical and consultative services, the Clinical Specialist II is expected to take responsibility for establishing and expanding clinical services in their area of practice. Responsibilities include developing medication protocols, order sets, performing medication utilization reviews and performance improvement projects to optimize drug therapy, actively developing and presenting educational topics, leading staff development programs and acting as preceptor to students and residents in a specialty area. The role provides mentorship, serves as a clinical resource for staff and other health care providers, represents pharmacy in committees and collaborative meetings, and actively participates in research, formal presentations and publications. The estimated salary range for this position is $122,475.25 – $159,217.83 per year, depending on experience. Qualifications Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) Registered Pharmacist licence Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.). If no residency training, must have 8 years of clinical practice experience in the area of specialty and board certification. PGY1 residency with 5 years practice experience in area of specialty and BPS required. PGY2 residency with 3 years practice experience in area of specialty and BPS required.
