Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients in the Labor and Delivery unit. Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient birthing experiences while adhering to hospital protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Administer patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Circulate and assist with surgical procedures such as C-sections.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs, ensuring patient safety.
• Document patient progress accurately using Meditech and CPN systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families on labor, recovery, and newborn care.

Qualifications:

• Texas RN license with active status; temporary licenses not accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience.
• Proficient in labor, recovery, and immediate newborn care including the golden hour.
• BLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications required.
• Ability to scrub C-sections and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong observational and communication skills.
