Production Planner

A San Jose PCBA Electronics Contract Manufacturing company is seeking a motivated and qualified individual for a Production Planner who will set the priorities and job sequencing in operations. Using information from the daily Production Meeting, along with supporting input from Program Management, Stockroom, Engineering, and Management, the Production Planner will execute build schedules and sequences to maximize productivity at all times in operations. The Production Planner will set schedules, recommend overtime to support throughput and work closely with Management to realize revenue objectives. In addition, the Production Planner will provide Gannt Charts and generate KPIs for Production in support of ongoing goals and objectives for the company. Duties and Responsibilities Using system-generated data, along with inputs from stakeholders and management, prepare a daily production schedule in advance of production. Reporting to the General Manager, with dotted line to the Director of Engineering, review all projected builds for timing of release to production and schedule releases to individual machines or production lines to complete each job Rebalance as required due to shifting priorities or as new information influencing each release is learned Responsible for the smooth flow of job releases and throughput for the SMT work cell as the initial priority, and subsequent schedules for critical operations within production to maintain focus on revenue sequencing and priorities each day / week / month / quarter Provide recommendations on impacted work centers use OT to relieve schedule blocks, or recommend adding or shifting headcount to support temporary upside in production Using analytical skills, responsible for the continued operation of production and resource utilization Qualifications: Very strong interpersonal skills and ability. Outstanding organization and communication are key components of this role Highly flexible and adaptable to a rapidly changing production landscape Strong cross-functional skills and ability to lead in a turbulent production environment Managing under pressure in a high-rate-of-change production situation with multiple inputs from internal teams Additional Knowledge and Related Experience Req.: Prior Planning skills are a must for this position. Prefer 3 – 5 years in an EMS or CM with direct background and responsibility for Planning production sequencing Knowledge of the industry is a requirement; prefer 3-5 years relative experience in a similar company where high rate of change in production is the norm Must be adaptable and flexible, and able to work with multiple inputs and sources of information to render a concise plan on a daily / weekly / monthly and quarterly basis Knowledgeable of departmental and Platform policies, procedures, and processes #J-18808-Ljbffr
