Speech Language Pathologist - Special Education - .5 FTE starting the 2026-2027 School Year

Speech Pathology Position

Salary: $53,683.89 - $99,647.38 (DOE and prorated based upon FTE)

A Group 7 stipend, currently at $8,589.42 (prorated upon FTE) and District sponsored licensure and attendance to OSHA

Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2,277 (based upon family coverage), TBD for 2026-2027. (prorated upon FTE)

PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Current Contract: KFEA Contract

Qualifications

  1. Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program.
  2. Oregon teachers' license with speech language impaired endorsement and acquire Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license, or
  3. Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license.

Director of Special Services

Job Goal:

To help students communicate appropriately through planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized programs.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Assess individual speech-language needs of children referred for Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education services.
  2. Assess individual speech-language needs for school age students and make recommendations.
  3. Prepare individual educational programs and materials.
  4. Deliver effective speech-language therapy to identified students.
  5. Consult with parents to integrate home and school goals.
  6. Assist schools in multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention, and other educational decisions.
  7. Provide consultation to teachers regarding speech-language interventions.
  8. Establish and maintain positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with the school community.
  9. Make independent decisions within established policies and procedures.
  10. Prepare accountability records regarding services provided.
  11. Communicate clearly and appropriately.
  12. Participate in professional growth activities.
  13. Comply with district rules and policies.
  14. Perform job-related tasks as designed by the supervisor.

Certification and Licensing:

Special Education Teaching Endorsement, required.

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification, required.
