CPG Business Account Manager - JBP & Category Strategy

The Business Account Manager III drives strategic growth across key retail accounts within a CPG environment . This role leads Joint Business Planning (JBP) , category management initiatives , and trade optimization strategies by partnering with Customer Managers, Client Leadership, and cross-functional teams. Responsible for delivering data-driven insights using Nielsen/Circana syndicated data , financial analysis, and retail execution strategies to improve sales, distribution, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) and execute annual/quarterly business plans Develop retail account strategies for major chain customers and wholesalers Identify opportunities and risks through category insights and data analysis Support category reviews, line reviews, and new item (innovation) presentations Manage and optimize trade spend, promotional effectiveness, and ROI Utilize Nielsen/Circana syndicated data, POS data, and analytics to inform decisions Conduct pre- and post-promotion analysis to evaluate performance and optimize future plans Establish distribution, merchandising, and retail execution strategies Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Insights, Sales, Planning, and Channel teams Participate in customer sales calls and retailer meetings Develop and present QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) and business updates Maintain planning systems including CROSSVIEW and trade planning tools Qualifications 5–7 years of experience in CPG sales, account management, or category management Experience calling on major retail chain customers Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) and PowerPoint Working knowledge of Nielsen, Circana (IRI), or other syndicated data platforms Experience with trade planning, retail analytics, and promotional strategy Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder influencing skills Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced retail/CPG environment Additional Information Indirect supervisory responsibility: Trade Specialists Work environment: Home office and field-based Language: English required; bilingual skills may be needed based on business needs Equal Opportunity Statement CROSSMARK is committed to providing accessible employment practices and welcomes applications from individuals with disabilities.
