Assistant General Manager

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to support the smooth day‑to‑day operations of our off‑campus student housing property. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of property management, leasing, resident relations, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities: Assist the General Manager in supervising a team of leasing consultants, maintenance staff, and administrative personnel. Ensure optimal occupancy levels through effective leasing strategies and promotional activities. Support the leasing process by conducting tours, handling resident inquiries and concerns, and assisting with the completion of lease agreements. Provide exceptional customer service to our residents, addressing their needs and resolving any complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner. Assist with rent collection, tracking delinquent payments, and initiating necessary actions for collection. Collaborate with the maintenance team to coordinate timely completion of work orders, ensuring resident satisfaction and adherence to property standards. Oversee the preparation of the property for new move‑ins, including inspections, cleaning, and necessary repairs. Assist with the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract and retain residents. Collect market intelligence and analyze competition to maintain a competitive edge in the student housing market. Conduct periodic property inspections to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Assist in the preparation and management of property budgets, including expense control and revenue maximization. Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and maintain high‑quality standards. Support the General Manager in creating a positive and inclusive community culture by organizing engaging events, activities, and initiatives. Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in off‑campus student housing management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, real estate management or related field (preferred). Proven experience in property management, preferably in the student housing industry. Strong knowledge of residential leasing laws, Fair Housing regulations, and property management best practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency in property management software and MS Office Suite. High level of integrity and professionalism. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
