Research Security and Export Control Analyst

Job Summary The Research Security and Export Control Analyst providesmanagement, operational, and oversight for the Old DominionUniversity research security and export control compliance program.The person in this position will coordinate with the Assistant VicePresident for Research Security and Export Control and team membersto develop, test, maintain, and update policies and procedures forensuring compliance, tracking, and monitoring of exports andsanctions under several extremely complex government regulations.Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing and coordinatingresearch security, export, and sanctions compliance activities andscheduling, conducting, and documenting training and screening offaculty/staff/students and other personnel. Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of US export control requirements, policies,and federal regulations. Working knowledge of EAR and ITAR . Strong skills in organizing and setting priorities andaccomplishing tasks in time-sensitive situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be eligible to access and evaluate ITAR and EARexport-controlled information and information that is restrictedfrom disclosure to non-US citizens. Master’s degree in STEM fields, business, law, or other relatedfields of study; or a bachelor’s degree in stated fields with workexperience equivalent to a master’s degree. Working experience in export control, international trade, orrelated area of research compliance. Preferred Qualifications Working experience with university export controls. Working experience implementing the NISPOM . Relevant formal training in export controls. Criminal Background Check The final candidate is required to complete a criminal historycheck.
