SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of departmental workers.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Schedule functional areas to achieve optimal usage on machines and direct setup and adjustment of machines as needed.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Maintain time and production records.
• Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials and products to verify conformance to specifications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Machine Tool Technologies or 3+ years of trade school, vocational education, or 4+ years of formal apprenticeship or 5+ years of work-related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T
• Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices.
• Extensive knowledge of CNC programming and demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines.
• Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making.
• Ability to speak basic English language.
