Senior Quality Inspector

Senior Quality InspectorThis Senior Quality Inspector will provide part and product, sub-assembly, and final assembly inspection services for assigned product lines, following defined inspection processes per the drawings and specifications to meet internal and customer's requirements. Responsibilities include:Documented inspection of incoming, first piece, in-process, and final parts/products across several product linesPart acceptance and rejection based on engineering drawings and specificationsCollecting and maintaining certs & COC's from suppliersDocumenting, in Epicor, non-conformances for vendor-supplied itemsDocument copying, document filing, and labor reportingAssist Quality Specialists, Manufacturing (welders, assemblers, supervisors), Engineers and Project Managers on Quality related matters/issuesAdditional items as assigned by Quality Engineer and Quality ManagerCompetency and Position Requirements:Proficient in blue-print reading including tolerancing and weld symbolsKnowledge and experience using hand-held measurement tools (micrometer, calipers, gauges, tape, etc.)Possess a mechanical aptitudePossess the ability to process numbers, and record statisticsMulti-tasker, detail oriented, organized, efficient and accuratePossess the confidence to question, place on hold, call out sub-par quality without reservationAbility to communicate through clear explanation, verbalization, and concise writingKnowledge and use of Excel, Outlook, and Word at an intermediate levelAll Armor Employees are expected to demonstrate Armor's core values (Customer Focused, Passionate about their work, Solution Oriented, Driven by Integrity)Education and/or Experience:Minimum of High School or Technical School diplomaTwo-year post-secondary degree or Certification as a CQI (Certified Quality Inspector)Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience, preferably with parts/products fabricated from sheet metal, structural steel, steel piping and machined metals.Ability to visually inspect welds to determine non-conformancesKnowledge and use of a variety of hand-held measuring instrumentationExperience working in a Quality certified environment (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) preferredWorking and Physical Conditions:This position will typically require 90% time on the production floor and 10% time in the officeThis position can be assigned to work either the 1st, 2nd, or weekend shift (need dependent)Equipment Used: Computer, Variety of Hand Measuring Tools, Copier, Telephone, ForkliftPrincipal Contacts: This position interacts internally with Direct Manager, Manufacturing Supervisors, Project Managers, Engineers, Purchasing Buyers, Quality (Inspectors, Specialists & Quality Engineer). Externally the position interacts with customers and suppliers specifically related to quality issues.
