Compensation & Incentives

Key Responsibilities
\n • Perform histological procedures including routine staining, special stains, and immunohistochemistry
\n • Follow laboratory pre-analytic and analytic testing procedures
\n • Maintain quality control, calibration, and equipment maintenance records
\n • Document and troubleshoot laboratory testing issues and corrective actions
\n • Ensure accuracy and quality throughout all phases of testing
\n • Communicate critical values and maintain STAT turnaround time requirements
\n • Participate in proficiency testing, audits, inspections, and regulatory readiness activities
\n • Evaluate test results and verify abnormalities according to established protocols
\n • Assist with validations, competency assessments, and staff training activities
\n • Maintain inventory, lot number tracking, expiration monitoring, and quality control documentation
\n • Support CAP, NYSDOH, AABB, and Joint Commission compliance requirements

Requirements
\n • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Required)
\n • New York State Histotechnologist License (Required)
\n • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
\n • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
\n • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced laboratory environment
\n • ASCP Certification preferred
