Summary of Job Duties:
CV Surgeon to preform elective and emergency open heart surgery on the heart and major blood vessels around it such as Maze procedure, CABG, Heart valve repair and replacement of procedures, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy surgery.
Qualifications:

Three to four years of college (bachelor's degree)

Four years of medical school (medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine degree)

Then one of the following:

Five years of general surgery residency and two to three years of cardiothoracic surgery residency

Six years of integrated cardiothoracic surgery residency (ICTSR)
