At a time of multiple, large scale digital transformation, infrastructure and innovative clinical reform programs and initiatives being delivered across WA Health, the Department of Health has recently appointed a new Assistant Director General, Chief Digital Officer and is mobilising the new Digital Health Division. It holds responsibility for digital strategy, prioritisation, planning and design as well as the implementation and assurance of major WA Health ICT projects and will play a pivotal role in strengthening digital governance, investment oversight, demand prioritisation, delivery capability and maturity uplift across WA Health. In addition to the roles described below, more opportunities are anticipated to arise in the near future across our priority functions, including mobilisation of an enterprise Program Management Office, cybersecurity streams and delivery of the WA Health Digital Strategy 2020-2030. Position Descriptions The Strategic Projects Team within the Digital Health Division delivers priority strategic initiatives requested by the Chief Digital Officer, including activities to redesign the WA Health digital operating model and support other teams across the division to deliver a mix of program assurance, business analyst, project delivery, and strategic communications activities. PSO Level 7 Principal Project Officer – Strategic Projects, Digital Health Division Provides professional and strategic project management support to the Program Manager, Strategic Projects through the development, implementation, coordination and management of projects, programs and initiatives for the Digital Health Division. Provides high-level corporate support for the Division through input into, and preparation of discussion papers, business case and funding submissions, reports, briefings and Ministerial correspondence. PSO Level 7 Principal Project Officer (workforce) – Strategic Projects, Digital Health Division Provides professional workforce, people and culture expertise and senior support to the Chief Digital Officer and Digital Health Division portfolio leads, to build digital health maturity, organisational and leadership capability aligned with the WA Health Workforce Strategy 2034 and WA Health Digital Strategy 2020-2030. Leads and manages key activities including planning, development, implementation, management and evaluation of priority projects, programs and initiatives to establish the Digital Health Division, including the development and implementation of the Digital Workforce Capability Framework. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and from a variety of disciplines and professional backgrounds. Strategic writing skills and demonstrated experience in the timely provision of expert advice and information including delivering a range of high impact documents, written presentations and submissions, preparation of high-level reports, strategies, briefs, implementation and communication plans.
