Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift community hospital position requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30 PM-5:00 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating to Petaluma required
• Treats adult critical care and emergency department patients, with pediatrics and transport experience preferred
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Administers a range of respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
• California state license required if applicable, and must be in hand at time of submission
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy

Additional Information

• Provides respiratory care across adult and pediatric populations including high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures
• Performs chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Must be willing to float between sister facilities as needed
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All time off requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
• Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
