Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working as a Sign Language Interpreter, supporting students in K-12 educational settings throughout the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position calls for four skilled interpreters to provide essential communication access in a dynamic, inclusive environment. Assignments will be located in the regions of Rosenburg and Douglas, Oregon, making a meaningful impact across multiple school communities.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Oregon certification/licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) required
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and administration
- Flexibility to serve a diverse K-12 caseload
- Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability in a school-based environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and culturally responsive ASL interpretation for students, educators, and staff
- Facilitate communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and administration
- Support academic and social inclusion for students across a variety of classroom and extracurricular activities
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with school policies and guidelines
- Participate in meetings, workshops, or training sessions as required by assignment
- Travel to varied school sites within designated regions as needed
