Azure Data Architect

The Data & Analytics team seeks to add an Azure Data Architect. This is an enterprise support role, focused on designing, managing and optimizing data pipelines for key data and analytics consumers (business/data analysts that need curated data for data and analytics use cases). The candidate will implement data pipeline solutions within our Microsoft Azure Data Lake environment and associated data warehouse repositories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize data preparation, integration, storage & analytics tools within the Azure landscape
• Design, implement, and support new and existing data pipeline solutions ingested from multiple source systems.
• Drive toward automation of repeatable data prep tasks to minimize manual data management processes.
• Partner with business unit IT teams to gather, and document analytics solution requirements.
• Partner with IT Infrastructure team architects to define, acquire, and deploy cloud services required for a given cloud analytics solution.
• Partner with cloud service providers on cloud capabilities for the enterprise.
• Partner with the Data Science team and business data analysts on data consumption requirements.
• Partner with Data Governance teams on data catalog maintenance and usage.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of experience in an information technology role, including some experience in systems development required with six years of experience supporting reporting and business intelligence solutions on on-premise, and cloud platforms, such as SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, Microsoft Azure Cloud, SQL Server, Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI preferred.

Skills:

• Microsoft SQL experience desired including data warehouse and OLAP concepts.
• Batch data ingestion (ETL, ELT) experience desired.
• Working experience in visualization tools such as SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau desired.
• Cloud platform certifications are a plus, e.g., Microsoft Azure.
• Expertise in developing and deploying analytics solutions on cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure (Data Lakes, Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse). SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, and Teradata are a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps, Agile, Scrum, and ITIL is a plus.
• Basic working functional knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and various modules is a plus.
