Field Service EngineerLocation: High Point, North CarolinaEmployment Type: Full-TimeFind out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.OverviewA growing industrial automation organization is looking to add a Field Service Engineer to support customer facilities throughout the High Point, North Carolina area.This is a hands-on troubleshooting role focused on resolving automation, controls, electrical, and equipment-related issues in the field. It is not primarily a controls-design position. PLC programs are generally already developed, but you must be able to review ladder logic, trace inputs and outputs, configure system components, and identify the source of equipment problems.Most assignments are expected to be within daily driving distance.What You'll Be DoingTroubleshoot industrial automation, electrical, and control-system issues at customer facilitiesReview PLC ladder logic to understand equipment sequences and identify faultsWork with PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, instrumentation, motor controls, and industrial networksConfigure HMI tags, alarms, device settings, and network parametersDiagnose whether problems are related to programming, electrical components, communications, or equipmentSupport equipment startup, testing, commissioning, and system verificationRead electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, control-panel schematics, and technical manualsReplace, configure, and test automation and electrical componentsCommunicate findings, progress, and recommended next steps to customersDocument service activity, troubleshooting steps, and system changesCoordinate with Controls Engineers when advanced programming or system redesign is requiredFollow customer and site safety requirementsWhat You BringExperience in industrial automation, controls maintenance, electrical maintenance, or field serviceAbility to read and troubleshoot PLC ladder logicHands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, control panels, sensors, or industrial networksStrong electrical and equipment troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or another major PLC platformAbility to isolate issues before escalating themStrong xhyhwjd customer communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently in active industrial environmentsValid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territoryNice to Have (Not Required)Experience with equipment startup or commissioningExposure to industrial instrumentation and communication networksExperience configuring HMI tags, alarms, or device settingsBackground supporting manufacturing or process-control environmentsTechnical, trade-school, or military training related to electrical or automation systemsEducationTechnical degree, industry training, military technical experience, or equivalent hands-on experience Converge Resources
