Position Summary The primary focus of an Instructor is to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills while facilitating Snapology's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) programs. Role & Responsibilities Facilitate Snapology programs for groups of up to 24 students (age 6‑12), through curriculum‑guided engineering and/or robotics activities Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face‑to‑face training sessions & staff meetings Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment, in a fun and engaging way to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem‑solving. All materials, lesson plans, & paid training is provided! Manage student behavior and discipline in alignment with the disciplinary systems of Snapology Supervise student lunch breaks Communicate with parents via Snapology systems, including photos, videos and insights about daily activities Maintain professionalism in dress, personal appearance, and communication with students, parents, and community partners Travel to various partner locations to run programs Safely transport, store and organize materials Qualifications 1 or more years of experience working with children in a tutoring, camp, child‑care, classroom or camp environment. Candidates with less experience will be considered for an assistant role. Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position. Current Criminal Offender Record Information CORI (background checks and fingerprinting) and Current First Aid & CPR training Driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and current insurance to transport materials 2 or more years of experience leading children in a classroom or camp environment Education degree or teaching experience preferred, students pursuing a degree in education are encouraged to apply Excellent time and classroom management skills Comfortable working with LEGO® bricks and technology Familiarity with coding and robotics preferred Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships Communicate effectively orally and in writing with students, parents, coworkers and leadership Proven reliability and punctuality Location You will be placed at an off‑site, partner location. Depending on the week, you will be in different locations (close to your residence). We have camps in locations throughout Eastern MA such as Acton, Ayer, Canton, Carlisle, Concord, Groton, North Chelmsford, Pepperell, Sterling, Tyngsborough and Westford. Position Details Instructors are paid a weekly flat rate per full day or Half day camp taught (Monday‑Friday). The flat rate includes materials pick up and drop off, lesson preparation, student lunch supervision, early arrival to set up and clean up afterward. Weekly rates range from $450‑$525 per weekly 1/2‑day camp, and $850‑$900 per weekly full day camp depending on experience and qualifications. This is a seasonal part‑time position, with available hours and schedules adjusting after summer camps end. The summer camps run from the week of June 15th‑August 28th, with one mandatory, paid weekend training, before the summer programs begin. Most scheduled shifts will be scheduled on a weekly basis and availability must be Monday‑Friday (full day) of those weeks. While it is preferred that candidates are available for the all weeks, week‑by‑week employment will be considered. Reliable transportation, punctuality, and the ability to transport equipment is crucial. Expected arrival 30 minutes early to prepare the room for the day. Appropriate county health guidelines will be followed in the event of any health concerns in the area.
