Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Defense Logistics & Operations to lead complex military logistics operations, strategic sustainment planning, and operational coordination supporting defense missions throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

\n

Position Overview

\n

The Director of Defense Logistics & Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for complex defense logistics programs supporting military operations across the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) area of responsibility.

\n

This position is responsible for directing theater-wide logistics operations, overseeing strategic sustainment planning, developing operational policies, and ensuring the effective coordination of mission-critical resources and services.

\n

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in military logistics, joint theater distribution, operational planning, and senior-level leadership within the Department of Defense or federal contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Strategic Operations Leadership

\n

\n
• Direct and coordinate operational activities across multiple departments, teams, and locations.
\n
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
\n
• Oversee daily operations involving personnel, equipment, materials, and logistics resources.
\n
• Provide leadership and operational guidance to managers, supervisors, and program personnel.
\n
• Establish operational goals and ensure alignment with organizational and mission objectives.
\n
• Lead strategic planning initiatives to improve operational performance and efficiency.
\n
• Mentor and develop subordinate leaders and operational personnel.

Defense Logistics & Sustainment

\n

\n
• Lead theater-wide logistics operations and strategic sustainment planning throughout the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility.
\n
• Coordinate and synchronize logistics services supporting military readiness and operational requirements.
\n
• Oversee joint theater distribution planning and execution.
\n
• Develop operational strategies to maintain effective logistics support in complex and resource-constrained environments.
\n
• Identify and resolve logistical challenges, operational constraints, and resource allocation issues.
\n
• Provide strategic direction for logistics readiness, sustainment operations, and mission support activities.
\n
• Collaborate with military leadership and government stakeholders to support operational priorities.
\n

\n

Program & Operational Management

\n

\n
• Lead the development, coordination, and execution of operational plans and program deliverables.
\n
• Serve as a senior functional authority for operational requirements and program execution.
\n
• Review and approve program-level operational documentation and deliverables.
\n
• Coordinate activities across geographically dispersed teams and organizational units.
\n
• Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
\n
• Support planning and execution activities aligned with theater campaign plans and military operational priorities.
\n
• Ensure operational objectives are achieved in accordance with established program requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

\n

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a closely related field.
\n

\n

Professional Experience

\n

\n
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience , including experience supporting commercial industry operations within the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility.
\n
• Extensive experience managing complex operations, logistics programs, and geographically dispersed teams.
\n
• Demonstrated experience directing and coordinating operational activities across multiple departments and locations.
\n
• Experience serving as a functional lead for major operational programs and deliverables.
\n
• Proven ability to review and approve operational documentation and program-level deliverables.
\n
• Expert knowledge of joint theater distribution requirements.
\n
• Expert understanding of theater campaign planning and associated operational requirements.
\n
• Strong background in strategic logistics planning, sustainment operations, and resource management.
\n
• Experience supporting military or defense-related logistics operations.
\n

• Strong knowledge of military logistics operations and operational sustainment principles.

• Experience coordinating joint military logistics and theater-level operational planning.

Security Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
\n
• 15+ years of relevant business operations experience within the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility.
\n
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
\n
• Extensive experience directing logistics operations supporting the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) or U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).
\n
• Previous senior military staff experience at the O-5/O-6 level or equivalent.
\n
• Experience overseeing theater-wide military logistics, strategic sustainment, and operational readiness initiatives.
\n
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large-scale military logistics operations across multiple organizations.
\n
