Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No Starting Salary Range: $16.68-$21.23 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume. Position Summary: Tutor students through a variety of modalities and methods, refer students to other relevant resources, and assist with daily activities in the relevant resource center for Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Required Qualifications: Requires basic skill set and proficiency. Conducts work assignments as directed. Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment. Successful completion of the Registered Nursing program. Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to: Tutor students through drop-in, by-appointment, and/or semester-long tutoring (online and/or in-person) lower-level biology courses by helping students understand concepts clearly with the use of anatomical models and online resources and providing guidance with lab techniques including the use of microscope. Refer students to appropriate resources within the relevant resource center and larger Academic Resource Center. Refer students to appropriate resources outside the relevant resource center/Academic Resource Center with consultation/direction from the relevant supervisor. Maintain accurate and detailed records, adhering to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and keeping appropriate staff updated on student progress and problems. Assist in the daily activities of the center, cover the front desk and checkout resources when needed , ensure students are checked in/out, help maintain a positive, clean, and organized center space and make sure students follow the policies of the center. Assist students with computer systems/software and help students troubleshoot computer problems as they impact tutoring operations. Use the appropriate scheduling system to manage and maintain tutoring schedules. Participate in mandatory center training and other campus-wide training opportunities as appropriate. Follow good work ethics by reporting on time at the center and staying the whole time according to the schedule and reporting absences in advance if possible; if not, in a timely manner so that alternate arrangements can be made . *Other duties as assigned.
