Position Purpose:

Production sanitation is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining all production equipment and facility areas to ensure a safe, hygienic, and compliant environment. As well as packing the last brine vats, bring 40’s out of the press and packing onto pallets, and slicing and boiling spring cheese. This role follows established SOPs, SSOPs, safety guidelines, and chemical handling procedures to support food safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

• Completely clean and sanitizeproductionequipment, tools, and work areas according to SSOPs.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for detailed cleaning whenrequired.
• Operate cleaning tools such asfoamers.
• Operate scissor lifts,chain hoists,electric pallet jacks,and other heavy equipment.
• Perform dry cleaning, wet cleaning, and chemical sanitizing procedures.
• Follow all food safety, GMP, and OSHA guidelines.
• Ensure cleaning is completed to meet or exceed QA standards.
• Report any food safety or cross-contamination risksimmediately.
• Safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals following established dilution ratios.
• Check and record chemical concentrations and temperatures.
• Completerequired sanitation logs, checklists, and documentation accurately.
• Use required PPE (gloves,face shields, aprons, boots,sleeves,etc.).
• Maintain a clean andhazard‑freework area.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and work in wet/cold/hotenvironments.
• Basic reading and writing skills for SSOPs and log sheets.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability toliftupto70lbs regularly.
• Work around water, chemicals, and pressurized equipment.
• Stand/walk for extended periods.
• Ability to handle repetitive movement.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on production demands.
• Responsible to clean make room, cooler, presses, vats, and all equipment.
• Removes and packs 40 lb. Blocks from thepresses.
• Train and help your co-workers and new employees learn these responsibilities.
• Maintain salt brines.
• Start on time every day and dowarm upexercises before you start your shift.
• Understand and complete documentation. Examples include cooler transfer, press distribution, lot numbers, trim slips, makeschedulesand make sheets.
• Clean equipment and set up forms and equipment (Finishing vat, tables, all equipment.)
• Willassistwith brine cheese production including table set up with forms and rails.
• Pack brine cheese.
• Inspect and connect milk lines and whey lines, inspect vats and equipment, etc.
• Slice and boil spring cheese.
