Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Location: 1 DNA Way, South San Francisco, CA, 94080 (Onsite)

Duration: 04+ Month Contract, with potential quarterly extensions up to 3 years based on performance

Pay Rate: $25/hr. on W2

Schedule: 40 hours/week; overtime, weekends, and off-shift work may be required

Interview: In-person panel interview

Position Overview

The Logistics Coordinator will support Material Operations & Lab Services by coordinating inventory, receiving, shipping, material handling, and warehouse activities for laboratory operations. This position will work closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure materials, reagents, chemicals, equipment, and other laboratory resources are available when needed while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, compliance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain inventory levels for laboratory consumables, reagents, chemicals, glassware, equipment, and other materials.
• Receive incoming materials and verify paperwork, quantities, condition, and required documentation.
• Prepare receiving documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Pack materials according to appropriate shipping, handling, storage, and temperature requirements.
• Prepare shipping documentation and ensure materials are shipped safely and correctly.
• Follow GLP, DOT, HazMat, and other applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Handle and store laboratory materials, chemicals, and supplies according to established procedures.
• Collaborate with Material Operations, Lab Services, management, and other cross-functional teams to support operational requirements.
• Minimize warehouse-related delays and prevent interruptions to laboratory/customer processes.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate problems when appropriate.
• Operate material-handling equipment and complete required PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) training.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment.
• Respond to customer inquiries through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
• Provide routine updates to supervisors and leads regarding workload, status, issues, and progress.
• Participate in departmental meetings, cross-functional training, and operational projects.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within warehouse and materials operations.
• Support Lean/Operational Excellence initiatives where applicable.
• Complete required training, certifications, and training records on time.
• Adapt to changing priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Meet established timelines and communicate potential delays or issues.
• Follow all applicable company policies, safety procedures, laws, regulations, and DOT requirements.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following:
• • College-level coursework in biological sciences and/or physical sciences, or
  • AA/AS degree in a related science discipline.
• No minimum years of professional experience required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with material handling, inventory management, warehousing, shipping/receiving, or logistics.
• Laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life-sciences environment experience.
• Experience handling laboratory consumables, reagents, chemicals, or glassware.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.
• Familiarity with GLP, DOT, HazMat, or other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Lean, Operational Excellence, or continuous improvement experience.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
• Availability to work weekends and off-shift hours when required.
• Must complete required PIT training and demonstrate safe operation of material-handling equipment.
• Must complete all required compliance training and certifications within established timelines.

One in-person panel interview with multiple interviewers.

Contract Information

The initial contract is 4 months, with potential quarterly renewals based on performance, for a possible total length of service of up to 3 years .
