Distribution Technician-2nd Shift

Location: Lafayette, Indiana

The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Distribution Technician . In this role you will be responsible for material availability for Assembly consumption. The primary focus for the Distribution Technician will be moving material to the assembly line via stand-up, or sit-down fork truck.

Position Notes

• Candidates must be able to read, write, and conduct business in English

• Hourly pay range of $20.94-$26.69 plus 6% premium for off shifts. Higher rates offered based on experience.

• Candidates must complete the full hiring process which includes but not limited to: Caterpillar Online Production Assessment (COPA), successful completion of Interview, background check, post offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen.

• Candidates must successfully complete and pass Basic Assembly Training (BAT), which is completed as a part of the new-hire orientation and onboarding process.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Moving material to the assembly line via stand-up or sit down fork truck

• Helping Stores Controller maintain inventory accuracy on production parts

• Making sure material is delivered to point of use in FIFO order.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of stand-up fork truck experience.

• Must have good written and oral communication skills.

• Self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.

• Basic computer skills.

Top Candidates will also

• Be flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands.

• Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.

• Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.

• Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed

• Stand on concrete for 8+ hours.

• Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN

• Position available is on 2nd shift (2:30pm – 10:30pm)

• Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected applicant.

• 13 days/104 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO) - (Prorated based upon start date)

• 11 Paid holidays

• 40-hour work weeks with potential for Overtime

Summary Pay Range

$20.94 - $26.69
