Supervisory Diversion Investigator (Group Supervisor)

Position Overview Supervisory Diversion Investigator (Group Supervisor) responsible for leading investigative and administrative programs related to the manufacture, importation, trafficking, and diversion of legitimate pharmaceutical drugs and listed chemicals to illegal channels. Locations Central Islip, NY (New York Division) Washington, DC (Washington Division) West Palm Beach, FL (Miami Division) West Milwaukee, WI (Chicago Division) Cleveland, OH (Detroit Division) Columbus, OH (Detroit Division) Grand Rapids, MI (Detroit Division) Charleston, WV (Louisville Division) Centennial, CO (Rocky Mountain Division) San Antonio, TX (San Antonio Division) Honolulu, HI (Los Angeles Division) San Diego, CA (San Diego Division) Responsibilities Supervise an investigative or administrative program or a major segment of such program; plan, coordinate, and oversee investigations; assign investigations based on complexity, scope, and investigator experience. Supervise three or more investigators in investigations of drug manufacturing, importation, trafficking, and diversion. Ensure investigations are conducted within scope of Federal drug laws and agency rules. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, registrant community and other contacts; lecture at training seminars. Prepare witnesses for legal proceedings and testify in legal proceedings as required. Conditions of Employment Must obtain and maintain a Background and/or Security Clearance. Open to DEA Employees and CTAP Eligibles. Drug testing designated position. Successful completion of a one‑year supervisory probationary period is required unless already completed. Successful completion of the mandatory Basic Diversion Investigator Training Course. Mobility Agreement. All applicants must meet promotion eligibility in the DI Career Progression Manual. Qualifications GS‑14: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience at least equivalent to GS‑13 level that includes performing the following: (1) Planning, conducting, and overseeing complex investigations with national or international significance; (2) Overseeing development of investigations, statistical data, and reports; (3) Planning subordinate work assignments, setting priorities and deadlines; (4) Using investigative knowledge and technical tools to resolve conflicting facts or evidence.
