Financial Reporting Lead (Financial Consulting, Associate)

Job Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking a Financial Reporting Lead (Financial Consulting, Associate) to support the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (FRB) with expertise in accounting, financial reporting, and audit support services. The role supports quarterly and year‑end financial statement reviews, audit provided by client (PBC) deliverable management, audit sample review procedures, journal voucher reviews, and accounting policy support. Responsibilities Perform quarterly and year‑end financial statement and reports reviews, including footing and recalculating numbers in financial statements and footnotes, and verifying tie‑points between financial statements, trial balance, crosswalks, and schedules. Confirm that fluctuations and variance explanations are accurate and reasonable; review financial statements for cross‑reference accuracy between statements and footnotes. Review annual financial statements for compliance with U.S. GAAP requirements, including footnote accuracy, statement of cash flows completeness, and accurate application of new accounting standards. Support technical review of FinOps accounting policies and procedures for U.S. GAAP compliance, and assist in writing papers supporting accounting decisions. Review journal vouchers quarterly, confirming supporting documentation supports each journal entry and that capitalization/expense conclusions are in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Maintain complete and accurate working papers documenting work performed, supporting conclusions reached, and consistent with applicable accounting standards. Coordinate with the FRB Audit Liaison to ensure timely delivery of PBC submissions; review PBC documentation for calculation accuracy, completeness, and sufficiency to support auditor requests. Perform extensive review procedures over audit samples, verifying that supporting documentation (contracts, purchase orders, invoices, goods received reports, new hire/termination actions, pay stubs) agrees to sample selections. Identify errors and corrective actions to prevent submission of erroneous PBC deliverables to external auditors. Provide technical accounting and audit expertise in response to auditor inquiries or follow‑up requests. Verify corrective action plans for accuracy and completeness; provide recommendations on emerging accounting or financial reporting issues and process efficiencies. Travel None Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of combined working knowledge of accounting practices and requirements under FASB accounting standards. Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Demonstrated familiarity with FASB, SOX, PCAOB, GAGAS and AICPA standards. Demonstrated experience in financial statement reviews under U.S. GAAP, including tie‑out procedures, variance analysis, and footnote review. Experience reviewing PBC deliverables and supporting financial audit processes. Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to respond professionally and timely to auditor requests. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Desired Qualifications Prior experience supporting PCAOB‑regulated entity audits. Familiarity with Workday (accounting and HR system). Experience with ITGC population testing including user access rights, privileged access, and change management reviews. Experience with actuarial estimate and census data coordination. Compensation The projected compensation range for this position is $120,000 – $175,000 per year. Final salary will be based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations. Clearance Ability to pass a background investigation or obtain Secret or Top Secret clearance. Must be able to pass FRB security check and obtain Board‑issued access credentials.
