Job Summary Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer I (RDCS‑I) is part of the patient care team and is entrusted with the care of patients undergoing cardiac sonographer studies on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis. Hours are Monday‑Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm; weekend and evening call is rotated through the team. Requirements Experience – Graduate recognized program for echocardiography required. One year adult echocardiography experience preferred. Must have at least 3 years of experience in pediatric cardiac sonography to be eligible for sign‑on bonus of up to $20,000. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) required. Must obtain credentialing in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS‑PE) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonography (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year of hire. Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential by CCI preferred. Bilingual licensure preferred. Education Graduate recognized program for echocardiography required. Specialized Skills Ability to communicate professionally, understand patient family‑centered care expectations and receive professional instruction to promote teamwork. Remain calm and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Effective communication in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone. Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and strong attention to detail. Organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple assignments effectively. Physical and Environmental Requirements Functional demand: Light to moderate energy level. Lifting and carrying 25‑35lbs; pushing/pulling 50‑100lbs. Physical activity includes bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use, fine motor activities, reaching, sitting, standing, speaking, hearing, taste/smell, twisting, walking, wrist deviation. Sensory requirements: color discrimination, depth perception, far vision, hearing, near vision. Exposure to air‑borne communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, dust, extreme noise, extreme temperatures, radiation, uneven surfaces.
