Our senior technicians helped define what this role needs to be. We're looking for one skilled line tech who can step in, diagnose confidently, and hold the standard. What You’ll Do Perform accurate, efficient diagnosis on Land Rover vehicles across all systems - electrical, drivetrain, suspension, ADAS, and beyond - using JLR diagnostic platforms and OEM tools Execute line repairs to manufacturer specifications - from routine maintenance to complex multi-system repairs - with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts Document findings, repair procedures, and parts used on every repair order with precision and clarity Communicate technical findings to service advisors in a way that supports accurate guest communication and repair authorization Collaborate with senior technicians on complex diagnostic cases - contributing to and learning from a high-caliber team Stay current on Land Rover technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that reflects the standard of the brand and the shop Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return What We’re Looking For 3+ years of technician experience in a franchised dealership or European aftermarket shop - required Strong diagnostic background - this is the core of the role and the primary reason we're hiring Land Rover, Jaguar, or European brand experience strongly preferred - Range Rover, Defender, or Discovery platform familiarity a real advantage Proficiency with JLR diagnostic tools (SDD, PATHFINDER, IDS) preferred - equivalent European diagnostic platform experience considered ASE certifications a strong plus - Land Rover or JLR factory certifications highly valued Solid command of European vehicle systems - advanced electrical, CAN bus, air suspension, terrain response, and ADAS Low comeback rate and a personal standard for quality that doesn't require managing Clear communicator who works effectively with advisors, the shop foreman, and fellow technicians Valid driver's license with a clean driving record What We Offer $45.00 - $55.00 per flat-rate hour - rate based on experience, diagnostic depth, and platform expertise Paid Land Rover manufacturer training and JLR certification support Progressive pay plan - certifications and demonstrated expertise drive your rate up Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and supplemental coverage options Paid time off and paid holidays State-of-the-art facility with current JLR diagnostic tools and technology Career path - strong line technicians grow into senior tech and shop foreman roles at Swickard Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts Swickard Auto Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
