Postdoctoral Associate (Psychiatry)

Postdoctoral Associate – Psychiatry Position located in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Miami. The lab studies mood, anxiety, and substance use disorders in adolescent and high-risk adult populations using neuroimaging and immunology. The neuroimaging program employs high-resolution data acquisition and analysis techniques modeled on the Human Connectome Project. Responsibilities Conduct research on specific areas of study as assigned. Prepare research reports and technical papers for publishing. Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories. Maintain substantial knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art principles and theories. Develop advanced analytical models and systems and provide solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions. Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets. Qualifications MD or Ph.D. in a relevant field required. Neuroimaging expertise or training preferred. Proficiency with at least one major neuroimaging software suite (e.g., FSL, AFNI, SPM, Freesurfer, Caret, Connectome Workbench) and Unix/Linux environments expected. Familiarity with Matlab, Python, and/or R programming languages is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Analysis of fMRI and MR spectroscopy data. Acquisition or processing of related MRI and biological measures. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
