In collaboration with a prominent medical school, our organization is seeking to recruit two Transplant Hepatology physicians to enhance one of the country’s leading liver transplant programs. This recruitment initiative aims to support ongoing growth and introduce a new focus area for two faculty members, expanding total coverage to nine full-time equivalents (FTEs). This role is primarily clinical within a highly regarded academic transplant center, offering opportunities for involvement in education, program development, and clinical research.

Our program provides a unique blend of high patient volume, robust infrastructure, and established program maturity, placing it among the top transplant centers nationwide:

• 192 liver transplants projected for 2025 – ranked in the top 12 nationally
• Averaging approximately 20 transplants per month with a positive growth trend
• Ranked 6th among the largest transplant programs in the U.S. as of 2026
• Strong multidisciplinary support with dedicated transplant coordinators and advanced practice providers (APPs)
• Active engagement in MELD/waitlist management, Transplant Oncology (HCC), living donor programs, and immunosuppression protocols

The division is led by esteemed faculty members with extensive expertise in transplant hepatology subspecialties, including Dr. Giorgio Roccaro, the Medical Director.

• Outpatient care in hepatology and transplant
• Participation in a comprehensive transplant call rotation
• Conducting endoscopy and colonoscopy as part of the call structure
• Providing inpatient consult services and transplant service coverage
• Collaboration with gastroenterology fellows and multidisciplinary teams

• Over 40 inpatient APPs dedicated to abdominal transplant services
• Three specialized outpatient APPs for Hepatology and transplant
• Established leadership and subspecialty programs (Viral Hepatitis, Fatty Liver, Transplant Oncology, etc.)
• Academic appointment with opportunities for involvement in fellowship training and educational initiatives

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (mandatory) and Transplant Hepatology
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Transplant Hepatology Fellowship
• Eligibility for a medical license and DEA in Georgia
