Regular operating hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, allowing for predictable scheduling.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to ascertain their specific psychological needs and create individualized care plans.

• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions aimed at helping seniors manage emotional challenges stemming from aging, including anxiety, depression, and grief.

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and social workers, to develop holistic care strategies tailored to each client’s needs.

• Educate family members and support staff on effective communication strategies and interventions to improve the emotional well-being of elderly individuals.

• Provide grief counseling and support to residents and their families, assisting them in coping with loss and end-of-life issues.

• Implement cognitive stimulation and mental health initiatives to reinforce cognitive function and promote overall mental acuity in aging clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily support senior clients facing various mental health challenges, including those dealing with the emotional aftermath of life transitions, chronic health issues, loss of loved ones, and the mental impacts of aging. Your empathetic approach will play a critical role in fostering a safe and supportive environment that encourages clients to express their feelings and work towards their mental health goals.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

• At least 4 years of recent, relevant experience in providing mental health services to geriatric populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n
