Instrument Test Technician 1

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build, integrate, and understand the full assembly process for production instruments
• Perform functional and release testing on at least one moderately complex instrument
• Analyze test results and data to determine pass/fail outcomes and provide solutions
• Optimize system performance, including precision of movement and light systems
• Identify defects and recommend design/process improvements
• Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
• Train associates on mechanical and testing activities
• Perform standard material handling for raw materials and sub-assemblies
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all safety/housekeeping policies
• Work overtime as needed to meet business requirements

Experience Required

• 3–10 years overall; AA degree in mechatronics or related field (0 years experience) OR 3 years experience in electrical, mechanical, or software troubleshooting

Skills & Certifications

• Electro-mechanical assembly
• Instrument testing, functional/release testing
• Mechanical tool proficiency (torque drivers, gauges, bits)
• Reading and interpreting drawings, dimensions, and specifications
• Leadership, mentoring, and coaching ability
• Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing participation (Kaizen, Blitzes)
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Basic PC proficiency (Windows environment)
• Strong English communication and independent problem-solving judgment

Eligibilities & qualifications

• AA degree in mechatronics or related field, or 3 years relevant troubleshooting experience
• Reliable transportation required (location not accessible via public transit)
• Safety shoes required
• Medical device background helpful, not required
• Able to work overtime as required
• No drug screening required
• In-person interview required
