You'll gain hands-on experience with a diverse range of projects and HVAC systems across our facilities, train on the latest technology, and receive ongoing support and mentorship from experienced caregivers and leadership.A caregiver in this position works 2nd shift, 2:30pm—11:00pm.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and other equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid state microprocessors and system alarms.Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High school diploma or GEDState of Ohio EPA approved certificate for either Type I and Type II or Universal Refrigerant Systems ServiceThree years of experience as a commercial/residential air conditioning refrigeration technician. Military experience as a Machinists Mate, Utilities man, Utilities Equipment Repairer or a similar role will be consideredFormal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and/or air handling may substitute up to 1 year of experienceCan read electric schematic diagramsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Completion of a formal HVAC/Refrigeration training programWork experience in a hospital settingPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to be mobile for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate and exchange accurate informationAbility to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)Ability to inspect equipmentAbility to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structuresAbility to distinguish colorAbility to climb laddersPersonal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
