Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care through assessment, evaluation, and treatment. The primary goal is to achieve wellness and recovery. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of care for patients within the scope of practice. Education is provided to patients according to their needs. Transcriptions, utilization, and implementation of protocols and physician orders are required. The healthcare team is coordinated, and appropriate tasks are delegated to ancillary personnel. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are essential, including a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy, and a helpful, professional attitude. The ability to communicate effectively with staff and the general public is critical. Effective listening skills are necessary. Strong organization and time management skills are important, with the ability to establish priorities. Exceptional problem-solving skills must be demonstrated. The ability to work effectively without immediate supervision is required. A willingness to learn new computer software programs is necessary. Confidential information must be recognized and protected. Demonstrating ethical and legal accountability for the position is essential. Experience in a special care nursery or NICU is preferred.
