Student Success Coach, Alpha - $120,000/year USD

Alpha students finish their academic coursework in only two hours per day through adaptive learning technology. That allows Guides to concentrate on the work that transforms lives: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. You'll guide a single K-3 cohort band- either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your time involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback. The remaining half is dedicated to coaching students both individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. Every moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and finish your coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they imagined. What You Will Be Doing Facilitate compelling life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, concentration, feedback reception, and other enduring skills through active engagement rather than traditional lectures. Provide coaching to students individually and in small groups, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and solid relationships to ensure every child remains on track for ambitious weekly learning targets. Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, coaching students until they show genuine understanding—not merely attendance. Adjust your coaching approach to match the developmental requirements of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical movement, and storytelling for younger learners or greater independence and responsibility for older students. Develop the types of relationships where students feel secure enough to push beyond what they believed they could accomplish. What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering academic lessons from a whiteboard. Students complete academics through adaptive software. Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons. Observing students work quietly on computers. Your function is active coaching, motivation, and engagement. Reducing expectations when students face difficulties. Success emerges from guiding students to meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward. Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or handling standard parent communication. Student Success Coach Key Responsibilities Develop a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, reliably meet ambitious learning goals, and acquire the life skills that equip them to flourish long beyond elementary school. Basic Requirements Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments. A demonstrated history of motivating young children to reach challenging goals, with concrete examples of your impact. Comfort leveraging AI-powered learning while dedicating your own effort to coaching, motivation, and life-skill development. The capacity to combine warmth with consistent expectations. Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Nice-to-have Requirements Background in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
