Registered Nurse Part Time Hospice Del Rio 7 days ago Requisition ID: 1060 About the Role: As a Registered Nurse in our healthcare facility, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. You will be responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate patient records. Your role will involve direct patient care, including wound management, telemetry monitoring, and providing education to patients and their families to promote health and recovery. You will advocate for patients’ rights and well-being, ensuring they receive compassionate and comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to improved patient outcomes and the overall effectiveness of our medical and surgical nursing services. Minimum Qualifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States. Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proven experience in direct patient care and medical/surgical nursing. Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring and wound care procedures. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Advanced certifications such as Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or Pediatric Nursing Certification. Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or in advanced nursing roles. Training in patient advocacy and education methodologies. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions. Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Perform wound care management, including dressing changes and infection prevention techniques. Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care. Advocate for patients’ needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care. Document patient information accurately and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Support pediatric nursing care when required, adapting approaches to meet the needs of younger patients. Skills: The required skills such as direct patient care, wound care, and telemetry are essential for daily clinical assessments and interventions, ensuring patient safety and recovery. Patient education skills enable the nurse to effectively communicate complex medical information in an understandable way, empowering patients and families. Medical/surgical nursing expertise supports the management of a wide range of conditions, while pediatric nursing skills allow for specialized care of younger patients. Patient advocacy is critical in coordinating care and ensuring patients’ rights and preferences are respected.
