Staff RN - NICU

Job Title: Staff RN - NICU Department: University Hospital | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Scope of Position: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care. Position Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN accredited nursing program. Current Ohio RN license or interim permit. 2 years experience in relevant care setting preferred. Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions. Additional Information: The Nationwide Children’s NICU at The University Hospital Wexner Medical Center is a 51-bed, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our NICU team includes nurses, PCAS, UCAs, milk techs, and a multidisciplinary team from physicians, NNPs, case managers, nutrition, pharmacy, and social workers, specifically dedicated to our NICU population. As a Nationwide Children’s NICU here at OSU, we are part of the NCH Neonatal Network, one of ten NICUs throughout the city.
