Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked law firm with a national platform seeking a 3rd to 6th year IP Litigation Associate to join its Austin, Texas office on an in office basis. This is a litigation focused role centered on patent and trade secret disputes for innovative clients, with matters commonly arising in technology, life sciences, and consumer products. The firm offers a sophisticated litigation platform with a collaborative, team oriented culture and a structured approach to professional development. Attorneys in this group work closely with partners and lean teams and are encouraged to take meaningful ownership as they progress. The Opportunity You will support all phases of IP litigation, including legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, discovery strategy and execution, deposition preparation, and trial preparation. The work is well suited to associates who enjoy technically complex fact patterns and building clear, persuasive case themes from the record. Ideal Candidate Profile The firm is seeking a 3rd to 6th year IP Litigation Associate with: Substantial experience in patent litigation and or trade secret litigation An undergraduate degree in a hard science or life science discipline Strong academic credentials Active bar admission in the jurisdiction in which the attorney will practice, consistent with applicable rules Outstanding research, analytical, oral, and written communication skills Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role offers the chance to work on high stakes disputes with significant technical depth in a partner accessible environment.
