Maintenance Technician

Job TitleThis position is responsible for the electro/mechanical maintenance of products and machines to support current production lines and/or sales orders. Technicians will be crossed trained between product lines and must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System.Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, repair, and maintain plant equipment to ensure proper operation and optimum up-time. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines.Plans, coordinates, and directs manufacturing equipment improvements, moderately complex installations, and no routine maintenance.Monitors, maintains, and repairs CNC machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in manufacturing, engineering, and other production processes.Investigates breakdowns related to extended downtime and maintenance system failures and creates solutions to improve efficiency.Responsible for maintaining of robust PM and TPM processes.Define maintenance systems and standards for all areas.May provide guidance to less senior technicians.Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings.Will perform other duties as assigned.Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools, examining form and texture of parts. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Proper use of welding and cutting equipment related to all phases of metal fabrication and repair.Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.Ability to repair and troubleshoot equipment and control circuits if needed.Compile full list of materials needed and/or used for each repair, fabrication, or installation assignment.Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor in installing, fabricating, or repairing as deemed necessary.Minimum basic HVAC troubleshooting & repair.Adhere to guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe handling, removal, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMust be 18 years or older.Highly self-motivated to achieve department goals and beyond.Able to listen, digest and execute.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Must be teachable.Working ConditionsExpect to work mostly within a climate control facility with mid to high noise levels. There may be some non-climate-controlled work assigned. Working conditions and hours may vary based on production and business needs, including working regular shifts as outlined and/or occasional weekends, or overtime, if needed.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift/carry 50 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, climb ladders, and other physical activities associated with mechanic work.Intermittent workflow requiring constant physical effort or dexterity.A job requires standing approximately 90% in the performance of duties.PPE: Steel toed shoes and safety glasses, goggles or other PPE as defined by other work areas.Export Control Compliance NoticeThis position may involve access to technology or software source code subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR).
