Lab Technician

Background The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works to improve the quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through interventions in Health, Education, Livelihood, and Disability sectors. THF implements projects on the ground and provides funding support to not‑for‑profit organisations. Its strategic planning focuses on poverty alleviation, reducing economic inequalities, and achieving 360° impact through social development programmes in rural and under‑developed areas. Project The Hans Foundation has operated MMUs on a self‑implementation mode since October 2021. The MMU model delivers urgent, preventative, primary health care, and chronic disease management directly in communities, aiming to make quality health services accessible in remote areas and improve overall wellbeing. General Location: Bageshwar, Uttarakhand Number of Positions: 1 Job Purpose Laboratory technician responsible for laboratory‑based tasks including sampling, testing, measuring, and recording results in biological, chemical, physical, and life sciences. Provide technical support for laboratory operation while adhering to health and safety guidelines. Key Accountabilities Visit MMU camp sites as per plan. Collect patient body fluid, tissue, or blood samples, conduct tests, and prepare reports. Maintain laboratory quality standards, including equipment verification, calibration, and troubleshooting. Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with legal regulations. Arrange timely delivery of reports to patients and doctors. Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers. Track consumables and reagents, generate periodic demand, and keep stock records. Update database daily. Support MMU members during camp activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Reporting To Medical Officer / Project Coordinator / Senior Project Coordinator Other Indicative Requirements Educational Qualifications: A DMLT/BMLT from a recognized institute. Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience: 0–3 years of experience in a MMU, hospital, clinic, or public health program. Well versed in Hindi and local dialect. Patience, politeness, and a positive attitude. State paramedical registration required.
