Embassy Suites Georgetown 1250 22nd St NW Washington, DC 20037, USA Description Scope of Work The general purpose of the Chief Engineer is managing the Hotel Engineering Department, including all related activities such as hiring and maintaining an effective workforce appropriate for an upscale hotel, establishing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs for all equipment, systems, guestrooms and public areas, participating in effective safety programs, coordinating and implementing capital improvement projects, and establishing, maintaining and managing the department budget. Responsible for all aspects of the Engineering Department to include, but not limited to, maintaining all facilities, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and systems at the highest quality standards. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, HVAC licensure, Universal CFC Certification English speaking – Pre-Intermediate At least 3 years experience in Engineering/Facilities maintenance field Leadership personality Job Responsibilities Provide support to Area Director of Engineer Manage adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools and material for the department Enforce Hotel Company policies and procedures Respond to emergency situations such as fire alarms and other life‑safety situations and notify the proper authorities in such cases Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner Maintain a professional image at all times Perform repairs in plumbing, heating, HVAC, and guest room maintenance Communicate effectively to all departments regarding engineering tasks Provide leadership and mentorship to the engineering team Understand and operate certain central plant equipment Lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull, and carry objects, and stand for extended periods Handle all mechanical areas Provide preventative maintenance on mechanical related heat pumps, motors, fans Address guest issues related to engineering promptly and efficiently Benefits Health Insurance Vision Insurance Vacation, Sick and Holiday Pay Company Basic Life Insurance Company paid Accidental Death & Dismemberment Company paid Short Term Disability Company paid Long‑term Disability 401k Retirement Plan Equal Opportunity Employer We are a drug‑free workplace.
