Overview Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients. Responsibilities Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups Required Education: GED or High School Diploma Preferred Education: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Necessary Skills: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer/patient service, problem solving, time management and organizational skill, be a team player, excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette. Ability to recognize life-threatening findings and notify physicians. Ability to calculate test results. Uses good body mechanics. Maintain patient confidentiality. Serves as patient advocate. Good organizational skills basic computer data entry. Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; CCI or ARDMS required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
