AlliedTravelCareers is working with Towne U.S. LLC to find a qualified Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in Abilene, Texas, 79603!

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a 13-week travel assignment . Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide skilled occupational therapy services designed to help patients improve functional abilities, independence, strength, coordination, and performance of daily activities.

This opportunity is ideal for a COTA looking to expand their clinical experience while enjoying the flexibility and benefits of travel therapy.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional abilities.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and other functional tasks.

• Provide training in adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and equipment as directed by the OT.

• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress or changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, safety techniques, and strategies to promote independence.

• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.

• Collaborate with the supervising OT and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Assist patients in working toward established therapy goals.

• Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional treatment environment.

• Adapt effectively to new facilities, clinical teams, and patient populations throughout the assignment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Active COTA license in the assignment state or ability to obtain one.

• Previous COTA experience preferred.

• Current BLS certification may be required depending on the facility.

• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a travel healthcare environment.
