Data Security Consultant

Salary: $130,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring 5+ years of experience in information security, data security, cyber security, risk management, compliance, or a related discipline.
• We have experience balancing governance responsibilities with technical advisory work in a complex environment.
• We understand data security governance, control design, risk management principles, and compliance expectations, and can apply them in a practical, business-oriented way.
• We have experience with data discovery platforms, Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) solutions, Databricks, Microsoft Azure, and data security considerations for generative AI.
• We build strong working relationships across technical and business teams and can translate complex security requirements into clear, actionable guidance.
• We can evaluate issues, identify control gaps, and recommend solutions that support both security and business priorities.
• We prefer a degree or diploma in Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CDPSE are considered an asset.

• We develop, maintain, and improve data security frameworks, standards, procedures, and control requirements that align with enterprise goals and regulatory expectations.
• We assess data security risks, review the effectiveness of controls, and support oversight activities to ensure alignment with internal policies and compliance obligations.
• We advise technology and project teams on data security requirements, control design, and best practices across cloud, analytics, and emerging technology environments.
• We help advance enterprise data security capabilities, including data discovery platforms, DSPM solutions, and controls for platforms such as Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
• We collaborate with technology teams, risk management, compliance, legal, data owners, and business stakeholders to align security practices with business needs and priorities.
• We identify opportunities to strengthen governance, improve oversight processes, and enhance the organizations overall data protection posture.
